Really good book
When I bought this story centered around the immediate aftermath of 9/11 it took awhile for me to wrap my head around even reading it, but, I finally determined that Georgia Beers would handle it with sensitivity, compassion and enough depth that I could handle it. I was right to trust Georgia Beers. First of all it wasn’t just about 9/11, per se, but another of the true stories that came from that evil tragedy. It was a story about Gander, Newfoundland. Look it up. This is where many planes were diverted until things got sorted out a bit. Her story is about 4 of the people who were on those planes.
Ms. Beers is a wonderful author and I should’ve never doubted she would do this so well. She writes characters that are believable and who she gives time to develop and grow, especially in this one…right up to the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed this even though it was so long ago, I remember the time just like I was there…and we all know where we were when we first heard.
I highly recommend it. It’s a love story, yet so much more. ~castaway
