He wants to turn part of the store into a cafe and sell books about vampires and silly romances. Maggie is horrified.
But when an electrician is killed in the middle of the bookshop renovations, Joshua is the prime suspect. Maggie must put their differences aside to clear his name. She finds herself becoming more and more attracted to Joshua. Can a mousy bookworm really fall in love with a rugged carpenter who doesn't even like to read?

Customer Reviews
Very Good of Its Type
I liked the heroine and the book’s setting. Solution to the mystery was well hidden. Clever of the author to keep us hanging at the end of book one, because we don’t know which man will win her heart. I just wish that the heroine hadn’t rolled her eyes so much, and that characters hadn’t smirked so much.
Cody Mystery
A cozy little mystery set in a small town where it never stopped raining, featuring a struggling bookshop run by a gentle old man, with an young introverted assistant named Maggie.
Cute and cozy mystery series
I absolutely fell in love with this series. The stories are well-written and enjoyable for those who love a murder mystery, but without all of the gore. The characters work well together and the stories always have the best twist endings. Highly recommend.
