A Colorado Claim
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
While this is a part of a series of sisters and this is the last one, you don't have to read the prior ones to enjoy this story. The sisters and their significant others do make appearances but the author does an excellent job in crafting this story so that it can be read as a stand-alone. I haven't read the prior ones but I'm thinking that I will have to go back and read them as well.
Lark is a child psychologist based in California. She has come to Catamount, CO to help her sisters fight against their father for their inheritance from their grandmother. The trial is delayed a week but she can continue to do telemedicine with her young patients. Upon leaving the courthouse, she finds a group of photographers at the courthouse's stairs. It brings back memories of her short marriage to hockey's elite player, Gibson Vaughn. As she goes to skirt around the group, she hears them shouting her ex's name! Gibson leaves his courtroom to see the striking figure of his ex-wife walking down the hallway. Gibson never wanted the divorce and is thrilled to see Lark.
Can these two put the past behind them? Can Lark handle the pressure of the media that hounds her ex? Can they work through their problems and reunite or at least get closure on that period in their lives?
This book is written in a dual POV format. I love getting that inner glimpse into the character's thoughts to really connect with them and to better understand them.
This is a sexy read so just a word of warning on that score!
Second chances
I’ve loved each book about the Barclays sisters and this was another winner. If you enjoy second chance, you should definitely read this book. Even though this is the third and final book in this series, you won’t be lost about Fleur and Jessamyn’s stories. I love a good second chance romance and that’s what we get with A Colorado Claim. Grab your copy and see if Lark and Gibson are willing to try again and if they learned anything from their failed marriage. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I have to say I loved the conclusion. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

Steamy Second Chance Romance
Lark and Gibson had a lot of issues due to distance and lack of communication, which resulted in the end to their marriage. He gets the chance to support her and her sisters during their fight against their selfish greedy father and prove that he’s a changed man who still loves her. I loved that he supported his ailing mother and was working towards a new ranching career after retiring from pro hockey even though it wasn’t a sure thing. Lark doesn’t want to be hurt again, but she also has to open herself up to being vulnerable in order to be truly happy. This was a nice conclusion to this sisters series.
