She had intended to turn around and walk away, but instead, she pushed open the old rusty iron gate and entered the graveyard. As the gate closed behind her, she felt the same magical sensation she had experienced as a child, reigniting her peculiar fascination with the place. Walking along the winding gravel path, she was saddened by the sight of disintegrated marble gravestones overgrown with weeds, their inscriptions faded and weathered beyond recognition. Mist rising from the ground shrouded the graveyard in a blanket of grey transparency. It would be dark soon.
