Love gets a second chance in Ryan's formulaic but dramatic fourth Bourbon Brothers romance (after Engaging the Enemy). Max Abbott has been pushing his family's Tennessee distillery to add a line of fruit brandy to their portfolio for years, but when they finally agree he's forced to work with Quinn Bazemore, the woman he broke up with 13 years ago and has regretted losing ever since. Quinn represents her grandfather's farm, the distillery's fruit supplier, and also signs on to manage the PR for the new beverage line, meaning she and Max, the distillery's v-p of marketing, will have to work together closely. Their ugly teenage breakup haunts them both, but as they reunite, sparks fly, and they discover mature mutual feelings that are even stronger than the puppy love they once shared. Familial obligations and years of emotional baggage provide realistic obstacles to their romance that are swiftly overcome in an emotional finale. Though it offers no surprises, this well-executed romance is sure to please.

Beautifully Developed Story
It’s a funny story and does an amazing job of developing how second chances unfold. It also makes us mindful that opportunities and challenges can be one in the same. I did feel like the end was abrupt as though the author ran out of steam as she does get deep into the main characters’ inner lives or there was a deadline that had to be honored. I wanted to see more of Quinn’s Grandfather’s response to his friend’s stroke and his granddaughter’s comeback story. There was great arrangement of main plot and subplot. I now really want to know about the succession and hope it’s in an upcoming book as this is my first book by this author.
Second Chances
A Reunion of Rivals is the story of Quinn and Max who once shared a very hot and passionate summer that didn’t get to blossom. Max sets eyes on Quinn for the first time in years and all those feelings he has never forgotten came back like a floodgate opening and their chemistry is undeniable.
Reese once again did not disappoint. She brings the Heat, drama, friends to lovers and enemies to lovers and wraps all up with a bow. I truly enjoyed Max and Quinn’s story, some people are not lucky enough to receive a second chance at true love, if that is what their heart desires. Personally I did not like the end B3cause It left me with so many questions that I truly hope gets answered. I am really looking forward to Coles’s story because he has been it through so much.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
