When Nicholas Sparks’ third novel was brought to the screen in 2002, its setting was changed to the present day. As much as we loved Mandy Moore in that movie, the book’s 1950s setting gives this love story a nostalgic feel that just works better. Sparks’ star-crossed lovers—Landon, the wealthy son of a congressman, and Jamie, the quiet daughter of a local minister—struggle to follow their hearts and foster their relationship. Set in a small North Carolina town, A Walk to Remember explores themes of social class, religion, and peer pressure. As always, Sparks delivers both warmth and tears.

This is book is by far the best book I have ever read! It is so moving and so encouraging! In the end I did end up crying it was so sad! I defiantly think the book is better than the movie. So if you like the movie, you'll love the book!
