Publisher Description

This book is all about enabling the average investor to realise better than average results, whether you manage your own money or work with a professional. It's all about turning the possibility of growing your money into a probability. In a falling market, "better than average" means suffering the least. In a rising market it means being at the top of profit curve. If you're invested in the stock market, you are the final decision maker. Whether you invest directly in individual stocks or through an employer's plan or other program - you really should have a good understanding of the money marketplace. Here is a thoughtful treatment and a straight forward discussion of the 'how and why' of investing in the stock market. This book walks you through the concepts and terms that are key to understanding how the stock market works. Host of Investtalk - the popular radio program and podcast, the author is a Registered Investment Advisor who manages investment portfolios for his clients. Steve sincerely believes every investor should expect better than average results from their investments. He invests, whole-heartedly, in the concept that accurate information and a balanced perspective are the keys to making better decisions. Since you already know you need to know more, you're already heading in the right direction.

    Great Book!

I thought this book was Great! I'm taking a serious stab at becoming more familiar with the Stock Market and this book has been a great crutch thus far. Steve does a great job getting his point across with the basics that matter most. While some of the language can be overwhelming at first, this book breaks things down in a way that that is much easier to comprehend than some of the other books I've read.

Long time listener to InvestTalk too!

Keep up the Great Work, Steve!

    The Everyman's Guide to Investing

What's so great about this book is that it simply lays out the fundamentals of investing without getting overly bottled down with jargon and overly complicated strategies. If you are looking for a straight forward and plain language book on how to grow your nest egg this book is for you. I especially like Chapter 7 where where Steve talks about what to buy, what to avoid to buy and why. He explains it's not as easy as it may seem, but there are four cycles of the economy that you should always follow.

Overall this book helped me put it all in perspective. I learned about it from his daily free podcast which is also a great wealth of information, and fun to listen to.
