Great Book for Investors
This book is great. But I have a problem viewing the charts on my MacBook. Seems to work better on iOS .
Retina charts, study away!
Bill O’Neil puts it out there, it starts with 100 annotated charts and there must 100 more throughout the book. Double click to enlarge and use your fingers to enlarge again. Learn Mr. O’Neils teachings and chart patterns, once you have you’ll know you’ve been blessed.
I don’t know what happens when transposing these books from print to digital, but this red copy (and possibly the green) are the best quality of the lot. I’ve looked over some of the bonus and bundles and the fine quality of enlarged display isn’t there, many charts are fuzzy and blurred.
A quick plug for the iPad app StockMaster I’m able to replicate very closely the style of charts used in this book and in the IBD weekly newspaper. Mr O’Neil has taught me what to look for.
Some parts insightful, others not so much
This book is a great read for the first few hundred pages in order to develop accurate interpretations of market trends. It does into detail about the CANSLIM criteria for picking winning stocks as well.
There is a really strong bias for the government and politicians which overrides the purpose behind some of the chapters. It’s almost ironic because it’s strongest in the chapters about media bias. There are dozens of pages that rant about bad politics and laws that the author obviously does not agree with.
To improve this book I would beat around the bush a lot less and get to the point. A lot of the information is airy and drawn out.
Ricky Gutierrez’s online course “Learn Plan Profit” has proven to be a much stronger educational tool for me.
