Acids and Bases

This interdisciplinary workbook presents an interesting learning unit about the cell. It is aimed at 7th grade students in the areas of Biology, Math, Spanish and English. It includes texts both in English and Spanish and allows for interactivity with the teacher. When the student reads and performs the activities, s/he understands the anatomy and physiology of animal and plant cells. It also provides insights into the function and clinical possibilities of stem cells. The acquired knowledge then is used to solve a moral dilemma that involves genetic engineering. 


Este libro interdisciplinario presenta una interesante unidad de aprendizaje sobre la célula, dirigida a alumnos de primero de secundaria (7° grado) en las áreas de biología, matemáticas, español e inglés. Incluye textos en inglés y español y permite interactividad con el docente. Al leerlo y realizar las actividades de aprendizaje propuestas, se comprende la anatomía y fisiología de las células, tanto animales como vegetales, así como la función y posibilidades clínicas de las células madre. Al término se aplica ese conocimiento en la solución de un dilema ético que involucra el uso de ingeniería genética.
