Publisher Description

The Adrift series, new paintings by Margaret Withers, can be interpreted as a type of visual flash fiction inspired by an imagination enchanted by the sea and by human complexity. Into this watery landscape she's painted either a large botanical contraption or a remaining planetary mechanical system. It floats high above the earth, and is just out of reach of the humans who are left, floating on a log - where it seems that something might occur, or has already occurred, and now, the consequence is being played out and they are set to repeat the narrative assigned to them, forever adrift in the world's vastness.
