A must read!!
Aeromancist: The Beginning is the prequel between the handsome, sexy alpha Russian Lann Dréan, whom we met in the previous book and sweet, shy, albeit risk/thrill seeker Katherine White. Lann is drawn to Kat and she ultimately agrees to a 30-day contract, staying with him in his home and in his bed. The catch is at the end of 30 days Kat will walk away and never look back. While this is a paranormal series this one is told in the POV of Kat, so we don’t see much of Lann’s ability to control air in it. This story was beautifully written, and it is filled with angst as Kat slowly begins to fall in love with Lann. They have an extremely scorching chemistry, both in and out of the bed, be it sweet and tender and all out BDSM. This book ends in a cliffhanger and it was a page turner to the very end. Which make me even more intrigued to read the next one.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Aeromancist: The Beginning (Seven Forbidden Arts #2)
Aeromancist, The Beginning
I love the uniqueness of this series!!
“7 Forbidden Arts”, this is book 2 of the series, “Aeromancist, The Beginning” relaunched. Honestly, I’ve never read any book comparable to this series, the unexpected plot and irresistibly appealing characters that Charmaine Paul’s’ talented writing brings to life. Her characters become
“real” and personable, your drawn in to the worlds of Lann Dreán and Katherine “Kat” White and you want to stay!
Lann Dreán, the mysterious, magnetic,
attractive Russian who is wealthy, very direct and extremely experienced, is hunted for his “gift” of being a aeromancist also he is a member of The Paranormal Crime Task Force. Lann longs for his own mate after seeing his commander Joss de Arradon and Clelia d’ Ambois work together, their love evident. Their story is the first book of this series, relaunched in October 2020, “Pyromancist”.
On a rare break for 30 days, Lann enjoys flying and is intrigued by the excited laughter of a female in the other glider. She is enjoying the rough ride of the glider and her obvious love of flying captivates him. Lann cuts his flight short to checkout the female passenger because they were landing.
As she walks past him, IT HAPPENED!
She moved the air for him, the molecules around him start vibrating touching him in ways he thought impossible. For a man possessed with air, it was all powerful, an all consuming fantasy.
Katherine “Kat” White, vibrant with striking blue eyes and thick, curly ruby-red hair and so very adventurous. A student on a once in a lifetime scholarship in Santiago, Chile writing her thesis. She could lose it all if she breaks her promise to not engage in “dangerous behavior” like flying. Lann Dreán intends to use her circumstance and promise to get what he desires from Kat......a 30 day sleepover! An explosive, sexually charged relationship begins but a deeper different bond surprises him.
Really enjoyed this reading experience
the relaunch of “Aeromancist, The Beginning”, the prequel of Lann and Kay’s story with a cliffhanger ending.
Thanks for the pleasure of reading the ARC copy for an honest review.
WAITING EXPECTANTLY FOR BOOK 3, “ART OF AIR”, the next book in this series, “7 Forbidden Arts”.
4.5 Stars!
This has one of my favorite tropes and I wasn't expected that after reading book one. To me, this book felt very different. I am glad to see we will get a variety in this series. I also wasn't expecting it to end on a cliffhanger. If I had the next book, I would be starting it immediately because I am extremely intrigued by how the Hero will change his mind.
The first book had a darker tone to it and to me this one wasn't dark at all. It has that rich man/poor girl flavor to it, you know there is more behind the scenes but the author doesn't expose any of that in this first book. Because of that, Lann was a mystery. Almost too much of a mystery.
We did meet Lann in book one, so if you have read that, you do know a few things. I think he just felt very separate to that life in this book. I don't know if that will make sense once you read it. Either way, it very much felt like a standalone book to me.
The things that really drew me to Lann and Kat were the temporary, contracted relationship. It's one of a few favorite tropes of mine. The intense physical attraction between the two. The overprotectiveness of Lann, despite his sometimes cold behavior, and the way he seemed to not get enough of her, even as he insists on no feelings to be involved. I'm eager for the next book.
