Against Praxeas is a tract written against a proponent of "Monarchianism." This tract contains the earliest known coinage of the terms "Trinity," "person," and "substance" to explain the relationship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. For this reason, this text is unique in that it contains the earliest semblances of a trinitarian formula.
