Almost Lost, Au Pair Series, Cassie Vale by Blake Pierce
After I read the first book, Almost Gone, I felt sympathy for Cassie and the things that she had gone through even though she was totally naïve and made a lot of stupid mistakes. I bought the second book so I decided to read it even though I was not thrilled with the first one. The second book was even worse than the first. I can’t imagine continuing to read a series like this where the main character is a weak person in need of therapy together with the medication she takes for her anxiety. Cassie had a terrible childhood and was dealt a bad hand but takes no responsibility for her issues or takes any action to change the course of her decisions. She continues to make the same mistakes over and over. Cassie is no longer sympathetic, she is pathetic.
