So when a team of rough-looking men start nosing around the slums of Rockwell, I make it my business to know what they’re up to. One in particular catches my eye. He’s rough and scary looking, but his touch is gentle when it needs to be. He’s older and more experienced in every way than me, but I’m still drawn to him. I’m not sure why, but I want him. This read deserves all the stars!
This is my first read by Marteeka and I am really impressed. Rain is such a strong woman for growing up and dealing with all she had, Arkham was the strong, resilient type with a heart of pure gold hidden, and together they fit perfectly. I was drawn in from the first page and Marteeka developed the story perfectly - keeping me reading until the very end. This story is part of series but can be read as a stand alone - I know I will going back and reading the earlier part of the series to learn about the characters
