Publisher Description

A distress signal on the edge of inhabited space. Two very different soldiers with one common goal: survival.

When a distress signal is received from a black-ops space station on the edge of inhabited space, Captain Saul Harris of the UNF Aurora is called in to respond. But the mission is not what it seems - information is thin on the ground and three new recruits have been added to his crew.

For Corporal Carrie Welles, one of the new recruits, her first mission in space seems like a dream come true. Determined to achieve the success of her father before her, and suddenly thrust into a terrifying mission, she must work with her new captain and the strained Aurora crew to make it home alive.

When the Aurora arrives at the station, Harris and Welles soon find themselves caught in a desperate fight for survival. Station Darwin is not what they expected. The lights are off, but somebody is home...

AURORA: DARWIN is the first book in the emotionally-charged space opera 'Aurora' series by Amanda Bridgeman. If you like character-driven science fiction with plenty of drama, suspense, action and a hint of romance, then you'll love this thrilling cross between The Expanse, Battlestar Galactica and Alien series.

Aurora Darwin

Real page turner that you can’t put down. Mystery and action all packed into a sci fi adventure.

Excellent!

Aurora Darwin

Easy reading, and not high on the technical end of sci-fi - which I wish there was more of, such as the descriptions of the ships and modes of travel and communications over the vast reaches of space. The author asks us to take those details for granted and concentrates an an emotionally and intellectually interesting plot.

That said, it has really well developed characters that I began to care about from the start. They had me with them on their journey at an emotional level.. Builds up easy for about the first half of the book and then just exploded in a pulse pounding thriller I could not put down. I have to read the next one in the series now!
