5 stars are not enough!
Page turning, edge of seat read! Great conclusion to this section of the story. Wonderfully written, strong characters, amazing descriptions. Thank you Simone for an all consuming escape from the heat! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
Larry is on the hunt for”The Surgeon “
This was soo intense! Larry has been on the trail of the serial killer “The Surgeon “ and everyone of the family has something going on. Let me tell you these Redheaded women, Mitch, Charlotte and Beth are all amazing. The men are very hot. James, Michael, Richard and Larry. This also catches up with Georgie and her goings on. The children Cara, Adam & Vicky are just adorable. The inn is going well as is the main homestead. But as with all these stories, things don’t stay settled for long. This ongoing series. With these characters is absolutely fascinating. So many twists, turns and edge of your seat action. At times you’ll want to cry and others have you laughing. One thing is for sure, if you start these books you’ll never be bored! I love them.
I reviewed an advanced copy of this book via Booksprout.
Great ending to the fall series
To begin with, I loved the finale of this arc.
At the end of the last book, Klempner was struck by a car…and basically it was fade to black for him and the book. Well, obviously, he lived. What would this series be without him?
I had to laugh at his newfound stress relief valve. At least it’s something he can do in public, even with the grandkids at the table with him if need be. No more having to dismantle, clean, and reassemble weapons or sharpen huge knives to focus thoughts elsewhere.
I think he’s also beyond shocked at the number of friends he’s made since he’s turned legit. The saving the innocents, and not quite as innocent, gained him some true friends that show up when a man is down, unlike the old crew who might just slice your throat at that point.
Interesting to the amount of character growth we’ve seen from Klempner. He’s not the monster he was…although that man definitely can be called when needed. The monster can also be self-subdued or subdued with a few words from a good friend.
As with the rest of my reviews for The Lovers Children Series, it’s definitely been all Klempner. That’s probably because this book has focused on him and/or the characters, when then they get a chapter are doing things for him. All except Georgie. She and Bortje are once again trying to make it work. I wouldn’t mind seeing what a Georgie-centric 3-5 series book arc would look like.
