Real Life Issues
I love it when an author weaves real life issues into a good storyline. Stacy Claflin does that all the while drawing the reader deep into the souls of her main characters.
It’s easy to feel and understand Audrey’s insecurities. She never had a real family, a real home. She struggled with self worth and fed into her abusive ex’s lies and put downs. Following her growth and change is frustrating but also refreshing as she learns to make good choices that uplift her rather than damage her.
Then there is Logan, a workaholic who won’t make time for a true relationship. Unlike Audrey, he was reared in a loving family who would always be there for him. He is married to his work. He’a a sought after attorney who looses few cases. Success is what motivates him. Women seeking love can’t fit in to his lifestyle of work, work, work…. win, win, win. As with Audrey, it’s good seeing Logan’s metamorphosis.
They say opposites attract. It’s nice and even relaxing watching Audrey and Logan being drawn to each other as they learn that love may not conquer all, but it’s a good foundation to having it all …. success at home, family, friends work and peers.
