When my cousin Liv whisked me away to South Africa to be maid of honor in her super-secret celebrity wedding, I was about to begin a five-year residency at NYU and was on my way to becoming a plastic surgeon. My plans definitely did not include a rock-star best man sweeping me off my feet.
But what happened in South Africa needed to stay there—he’d return to his touring and I’d start my residency, with our fond memories of a whirlwind, fairy-tale week. But now nothing feels right—I’m questioning my once solid plans, and I can’t stop thinking about him. Our lives are so different… Am I ready to risk everything I’ve worked for since I was thirteen—and put my heart on the line? To dream bigger than I ever thought possible? To believe I can have it all? That’s the thing about growing up...sometimes you have to be brave enough to redefine happily ever after.

Best of the brightside series
I can't praise this book enough! Wonderful romance with a star of a main character, Dr. Amanda Conrad is every woman who wants a career and true love. This is my favorite of the series-you will laugh, cry a little and be buoyed by the joy this writer creates.

This is book # 3, in The Brightside series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this series in order.
Mark and Amanda aka Boots meet under some really unfortunate circumstances. Good thing there are better reasons to get together later. Can a bad first impression turn into something positive for the future?
Amanda has reason to be wary of a man who has hordes of crazy music fans following him everywhere. Mark is an amazing guy, but is the man she sees the same man on stage? Between two really serious and busy careers and states, can you fall in love?
This book took me by surprise. I know the series is good. I keep coming back for a reason. This couple needed an HEA something bad. What was great was how they get there. I hope we see more of this series since it is so terrific!

Amanda "Boots" Conrad is about to start her residency and is on her way to being a plastic surgeon. On a break, she goes to South Africa to maid of honor for her cousin's wedding. While there, she meets Mark, the best man and bassist in Berkeley and the Brightside. After an amazing couple of nights together, it's back to reality and her goal of being accepted into the plastics program at NYU. While both in the same city, Amanda and Mark run into each other several times but it doesn't seem to be the right time.
I thought this book was well written but there were definitely parts of the story that felt slow. I loved that Amanda was intelligent, driven, and unwilling to let someone else interfere with her dreams. There were parts of the story that I wished for Mark's POV to know where he stood in this budding relationship. I have not read Liv and Berkeley's story but will be adding it to my TBR!
