On the heels of their victory securing marriage equality for same-sex couples, Supreme Court Justice Victoria Willoughby and LGBTQ rights lawyer Genevieve Fornier were hoping for some quiet time to navigate their new relationship. Instead, a photo of them almost kissing shows up on a blog, and they’re thrust into the media spotlight again. When Genevieve’s case about same-sex parental rights gets appealed to the Supreme Court, their potential conflicts of interest have legal and personal ramifications, and one of them is going to be benched for the hearing.

As much as I wanted to read this story as soon as it came out, I waited. Build up the suspense. ;) Told myself that I wouldn't tear apart or pass judgement on Ms. Rippon's latest book. Why would I when I have the opportunity to give praise and kindness for a well written book? A little predictable maybe but nonetheless well written.
I loved reading about these two strong individuals and how their story unfolded, new characters introduced and old ones stepping down but not forgotten. Good friends stick around. Better yet a great partner sticks around and fights for what and whom she wants. It doesn't matter how much it may change you and it will, because in the end it's well worth all the risks. Love is worth it.
I'm hoping that there's another book coming because there is so much more to write and I look forward to the rest of the story.
