Rose and Alfie appeared in foster carer Grace Hunter’s life as an emergency placement after the death of their baby sister. What started as a short term arrangement quickly became complex and all consuming. Nobody was surprised that the children appeared wary, mistrustful and deeply traumatised - they had witnessed the killing of their baby sister by their mother’s boyfriend.
