Blowout is the sixth book in the Breakers Hockey series, but could be read as a stand alone. Cas only has eyes for Jules, but she has no time for a relationship, especially with a hockey player. Will patience, kindness, and perseverance win his lady’s heart, or will her past keep the iron shackles around her heart?

Oh my heart, this book! There was just so much love and acceptance in this book that I pretty much was swooning right from the very beginning! Jules and Cas captivated me and I loved their journey to finding love. Jules is so strong and independent and had such a crap hand dealt to her that she didn’t know that she could trust Cas’ kindness. Cas was so pure. He never pretended to be perfect, especially with the joke about his broken picker, but I loved his patience and how badly he wanted Jules and was absolutely determined to never give up. I adored their connection, how she learned that she could depend on him with not just herself, but with her son too, and I loved their passion once they both gave in to it. There was just enough drama from both of their pasts that tried their hardest to interfere with their present and future, but I loved how everything resolved itself. The ending was so good! I cried. I laughed. But mostly I just swooned. I LOVE these hockey players and their feisty and wonderful woman they fight for, and this was truly a fabulous addition to the series. I’d give it way more than five stars if I could!

Very touching, heartwarming story - the sixth in the Breakers Hockey series - Blowout is Jules and Cas’s story.

Single mom, Julie (“Jules”) is juggling her job, college courses and raising her young son, Ethan. With the help of her neighbor, Jules is making it work…but that’s really all she has been doing since Ethan was born. After she had been burned badly by Ethan’s biological father (and her own father), Jules is determined to keep men out of her life.

Luca (“Cas”) plays for the Breakers and has watched Jules from afar whenever he and the team stop by CeCe’s, the bar where Jules works, after their games. He sees the exhaustion on her face. Being the oldest of four children, he knows that parenting can be an exhausting job. Being a single mom? Doubly hard.

And while Jules really wants to avoid any kind of relationship that could break her heart again, Cas keeps showing up in a kind and steady way.

Cas is truly a good guy…but can Jules trust her heart to a hockey player?

This is a wonderful story of a woman trying to do her best for her son and a man who is patient, kind and caring, helping her believe in herself and her feelings every step of the way! A truly delightful story!
