Born in Sin

I loved this book. Yes Sin’s backstory was horribly sad but Callie brought light into the sadness from their very first meeting. I wanted this book never to end.

This book started out promising. The cast of characters seemed so well written. And then it turned way too modern and silly and held so many current phrases I thought I was reading a complete different book.

In the story the hero has been maligned, mistreated, physically and emotionally abused and lived a nightmarish life that no human should have to endure. The more you heard about his life story more your heart aches and cries for him. For me it was a bit too much, it was way over-the-top and I was constantly asking myself when would The author introduce some levity and happiness into the story. For me this really wasn't a true romance novel because the content was so heavy and bleak until the very end. But it is a wonderfully written tale and not your usual historical romance plot. As for the heroine, while she was opinionated and feisty she still came across a little weak and naïve to me. Not wanting to make a choice between her husband and her foolish brother. The end was was a bit of a farce for me and not very realistic. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it. It is a keeper.
