Hailed by Rachel Van Dyken as “equal parts sexy, intense, and emotional,” Sarah Robinson’s blistering-hot series debut introduces the Kavanagh brothers—mixed martial arts fighters who work hard, play hard, and love with all their hearts.
As one of the big names at his family’s gym, Legends, MMA star Rory Kavanagh is used to being in the spotlight—until a gruesome leg injury knocks him out of the cage. Rory is left feeling sidelined in more ways than one, battling the inner demons that come with losing the one shot at his dreams. Then Clare walks into his life and gives him a new dream: winning her heart. There aren’t many new faces in Woodlawn these days, but this tough, beautiful stranger makes Rory want to get his life back into fighting shape.
Clare Ivers doesn’t think she’ll be able to tell anyone what really brought her to the close-knit Bronx neighborhood where she just started bartending. But her life’s on pause and her past is catching up fast, try as she might to move on—with new friends, steady work, and a chiseled alpha male trying to get her attention. Even though Rory’s more than a little intense, she can’t deny that her heart beats faster when he looks at her with those soulful silver eyes. Clare thought she was done with love, but Rory might just be man enough to show her she thought wrong.

Hot new series!
Rory meets Clare at the bar where she works. Her boss is kind of a jerk. So that night she sees Rory punch her boss. Then she meets him again at the family gym.
Clare wants to improve her life, as well as the quality of life. She listens to her new friend and signs up for a defense class. Rory is there training his little brother to fight.
Rory is a champion. A legend. He used to be the best in the nation. As an MMA fighter, he was hard to beat. Then about a year ago, he was given an injury that sidelined his plans. Now he is suffering to come back to the living and be present in the now.
Clare makes Rory want. He wants better for himself, and better for her. Can that better be them together? He has never felt for anyone what he feels for her. He wants her to see that she is different, so he takes his time. Walking and talking with her.
Clare has a past full of pain and problems. She has given up her hopes for the future, and her plans to be a veterinarian. Now, she is forging ahead on a new life. She has a new job, a new man, and plans to get back to school. Will her past derail all she is working so hard to attain?
Rory and Clare's banter is so good. I want to quote the whole book to you. Instead, I will highly recommend you read this beginning to the Kavanagh Legends series. Great start and good story.

Suprisingly good! I basically spun a wheel in the store and jabbed my finger landing on this book, but I'm super glad I did! I'll most likely pick up the second one, as I enjoy the characters. I married an MMA fighter so I was pleased with the portrayal and details that were included. Though I knew where the main story was going fairly quickly I really enjoyed it and there were PLENTY of suprises peppered throughout which I greatly appreciated! Appropriately steamy, well written scenes. Nothing was over described, I got exactly as much detail as I needed which is great! Most books like this really try to sell you each strand of hair if that makes sense. I read the book straight through, didn't want to stop. An easy read, you will not be dissapointed!
I couldn't even read the last 5 pages. Don't buy.
