The way I remember it, with some errors

The book is the way I remember it when I read it in the early '60s.

However, this digital copy needs updating, at least in the chapter on organic growth where the natural number e is described -- Thompson calls it epsilon. The epsilon character is missing in many expressions in this chapter. The book needs to be edited and reissued.

Great!

This book is outstanding! I have the physical copy of the book that my father used when he was starting Calculus-- the same book that helped him learn Calculus when he started, and now, years later, he's a particle physicist.

Public Domain Thievery

Another example of stealing works from the public domain and taking credit for it. It’s available for free many other places - see archive.org, gutenberg project, google books, etc.
This book already belongs to you - don’t waste your money, and don’t reward these thieves!
That said, this book is a classic, you can learn the basics of calculus in an easy to understand way from a dime-store-novel sized building blocks no nonsense format. Martin Gardner improved the language a bit and made it slightly more mathimatically solid but that ruined much of the charm and pocket size when he “updated” it. You don’t read this to become a mathimatics professor, you read this to get a solid understanding of the language of physics and engineering. What one fool can figure out, another can. You can get through all the exercises with good understanding in under two weeks, try that with any modern tome.
