The Turning Point
While it has its flaws, Blood Requiem is the big one. What Duskfall and Dark Immolation sets up, this book pays off with a few new set-ups that I can’t wait to see resolved. Our characters, our lovable misfits, are growing into their own and making choices, experiencing MAJOR challenges and new, terrifying enemies, and have all of their own daemons brought to the surface.
While the pacing can be improved, this bloody third installment is nothing short of a gripping, gruesome and emotionally deft piece of storytelling with world building and lore that I seriously can’t get over how good it is. Onto Fear the Stars! All hail the Queen.
