Chronicles of Avonlea Chronicles of Avonlea

Publisher Description

Lucy Maud Montgomery was a Canadian writer best known for writing children books.  Montgomery was raised by her grandparents in the small community of Cavendish on Prince Edward Island, which was the setting for her famous Anne of Green Gables series.

Montgomery married a Presbyterian minister and had 2 sons yet her life was often filled with unhappiness as her husband became mentally and physically ill soon after their children were born.  Writing would become Montgomery’s one escape as she would go on to publish 20 novels and over 500 short stories throughout her lifetime.

This edition of Chronicles of Avonlea is specially formatted with a Table of Contents and includes illustrations of Montgomery and her life.
