True love is shrouded in secrets and lies in the enchanting second book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Infernal Devices Trilogy, prequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series.
In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when it becomes clear that the mysterious Magister will stop at nothing to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.
With the help of the handsome, tortured Will and the devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal and fueled by revenge. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister knows their every move—and that one of their own has betrayed them.
Tessa is drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa answers about who she really is? As their search leads to deadly peril, Tessa learns that secrets and lies can corrupt even the purest heart.

Infernal Devices tops Mortal Instruments
I read Clockwork Angel three times on my iPad dying to read what would happen next and I was worried the sequel wouldn't be as good as the first. Clockwork Prince went above my expectations and I could not stop reading. This book goes more in depth about each character and it only made me love them and their world even more.
I love how Cassandra Clares characters never fail to make me laugh or smile and grin like an idiot. Unlike the Simon and Jace love triangle in the Mortal Instruments I was and still am absolutely torn between Jem and Will, as is Tessa. The ending was bittersweet and I have begun the process all over again of dying to read the next book and seeing what happens with all the other characters and the newly introduced ones.
Im not quite sure why I enjoy the Infernal Devices more then the Mortal Devices now, considering I used to adore those books as well. It could be the time setting, location, or just the idea of knowing that there were shadow hunters long before Jace and Clary and wanting to know what becomes of them aside from Magnus. The story line is just as compelling and original, I honestly think that the characters are just more lovable and interesting. Anyway, this book will not disappoint and will leave you thirsting for more.
AMAZING SO FAR
I'm currently reading this book, but I just wanted to say that even though I had my doubts before reading the first book (& that's surprising considering I'm a HUGE fan of the Mortal Instruments series!!!), I am IN LOVE with this book so far! I'm halfway through and I can't stop reading! It's amazing and very well-written. I' m loving Will, he's hysterical and charming and so much like Jace! I really do hope Tessa ends up with him and not Jem, even though you have to love Jem as well. WILL ALL THE WAY <3
READ IT, it's SHOCKING, ITENSE, SUSPENSEFUL, ADORABLE, AND THRILLING all at once!
AMAZING!!
Very, very good book picks up right were it was ended in clockwork angel. Can't believe Cassandra left me hanging like that. Cant wait for the next book. Baby Buford, weddings, and lost families!!!
