Lovely
I've read quite a number of Betty Neels' books and they make for very relaxing reading, as they are gentle, with long descriptions of clothing and food and beautiful homes, and basically only 2 plots. I mean it, 2 plots- a girl, either plain and plump with lovely eyes or strikingly beautiful, who is either a hard working nurse or secretary or an unskilled companion suddenly made destitute, meets fabulous doctor or surgeon, who is either English or Dutch, who either breezes in and out of her working life, or saves her over and over again, and who may or may not have a nasty girlfriend, etc. in the wings waiting to create misunderstandings and mischief for the heroine...oh and perhaps they marry under a cloud of miscommunication early in the story... Which is why I recommend this one. Not that it doesn't fit in with the whole "2 plot" scenario, but it has some hilariously whackadoodle elements that set it apart. Amnesia? Really? And some funny scenes near the end that I won't spoil.
