Meet the tough, dedicated men of BOSTON FIRE—and the women who turn their lives upside down
Rick Gullotti lives the good life. He fights fires, dates beautiful women—though none long enough so they cast wistful glances at jewelry stores—and has great friends. And thanks to helping out the elderly couple who own his building, his rent is low. But when concerns about their health lead him to contact their only son, his life starts getting away from him.
Jessica Broussard has no interest in leaving sunny San Diego or her cushy corner office for Boston, but her father—who happens to be her boss—dispatches her to deal with the grandparents she’s never met. She’s unprepared for the frigid winter, loving relatives who aren’t the monsters she’s been led to believe, and the hot, scruffy firefighter who lives upstairs.
At first, Jessica is determined to get back to her comfortable life as quickly as possible. All she has to do is talk her grandparents into selling their monstrosity of a house and moving to a retirement community. But she underestimates Rick’s dedication—and his considerable charm. Nobody’s taking advantage of his friends on his watch, even if that makes the tempting southern California girl with the long legs his adversary. Unfortunately for them both, the only thing more urgent than the matter at hand is their sizzling chemistry, and it’s quickly becoming too strong to resist.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Stacey's second Boston Fire contemporary (after Heat Exchange) builds a satisfying romance atop a cast of strong, realistic characters. Firefighter Rick Gullotti rents an apartment from retirees Joe and Marie Broussard and thinks of them as his own family. When Jessica Broussard, the granddaughter they never knew they had, shows up on their doorstep, Rick gets extremely protective. Despite the long-standing rift between Jessica's father and his parents, he's still their next of kin. A doctor leaves a voice mail saying that Joe is ill; Jessica overhears it and impulsively heads to Boston. At first she's intent on convincing her grandparents to sell their home. She definitely isn't expecting to go up against a sexy firefighter who doesn't trust her motives. As the chemistry crackles between Rick and Jessica, she must decide whether to agree with her straitlaced father's judgmental view of the parents he abandoned, or embrace her grandparents and the man who takes her breath away. Stacey's engaging novel is pure comfort food: readers know just what to expect, and it's deeply satisfying.

Loved it!
I was so excited to return to Boston Fire, and it did not disappoint me. A beautiful slow building romance between Rick and Jessica. How can you not fall in love with Rick, a sexy fireman and a tenant to Jessica's elderly grandparents, who will do anything for them. Jessica comes to Boston to help her grandparents, whom she has never met. I so enjoyed the bonding between Jessica and her grandmother. The biggest problem between Jessica and Rick, is that they live on opposite coasts. Can they survive a long distant relationship? Fireman are a true Brotherhood, once again.
I highly recommend this book, it is book two but a completely stand alone book. I was great to see some of the characters from the first book though. I received this book from netgalley for an honest review.
Good read
This was a good read. But felt the end was an abrupt ending. Things left unanswered. Did he buy the house and did Joe and Marie stay with him or go to a retirement home? Did they even sell? Did her dad ever open a business in Boston? Does her dad finally give in and go see his parents again? So many questions left unanswered. Hope we get to find them out next book. Other than that it was a good read.
