Crotchet Castle

Thomas Love Peacock (1785-1866) was an English poet and writer who worked in the genre of satire. His works are dedicated to satirizing the customs and day-to-day life of his contemporaries. Peacock’s writing style combines the elements of the mock-Gothic with those of the Aristophanic.


'Crotchet Castle' is a novel by Thomas Love Peacock that was initially published in 1831.  In this work Peacock satirizes on people's monomaniac obsessions and that makes it resembled to his another novel 'Headlong Hall'.
