Romantic suspense, with the perfect kind of hero!!
Briella’s sister was murdered one year ago and she is still haunted by the events of that horrifying night. Wyatt is the detective who had been in charge of the case since the very beginning and he was well aware that Briella was determined to solve the murder on her own. She stops by to see him all the time, and he feels bad when he doesn’t have any new information until one night, when he was dispatched to a murder that was eerily similar to that of her sister, Dawn. He was afraid that he either had a copycat killer or the real killer had returned to terrorize the young women in his small town. Wyatt takes his job seriously and he was furious that he had been unable to find any useful clues to take down the killer. When Briella’s life is in danger, he risked his career to keep her safe because he couldn’t bear to live without her.
Law enforcement professionals hate to be called heroes but to Briella, Wyatt was her hero because he vowed to find her sister's killer, made her feel safe, and offered his shoulder when she just couldn’t take it anymore. Briella valued her privacy and hated being dependent upon Wyatt, but in her heart, she knew they were always meant to be together. Wyatt was thrilled that he could finally be with Briella because she made him a better man and made his life complete. His bravery, determination and quick thinking should win out in the end when he finally comes face to face with a killer who had been haunting his dreams for over a year. I love reading romantic suspense books by Amanda Siegrist because she always gives me just the right amount of mystery and danger to go along with a guaranteed happily ever after!!
