Meh
Last book kinda fell off. There wasn’t a lot of drama, kinda felt rushed. Still loved the series
Review is for the entire series
I decided to write the review for the entire series on the last book.
I read all three books in the series mostly because I was intrigued by the concept. The books seemed flat. Not a lot of details. If I’m honest it read like something an eighth grader would have written. I have not read anything else by this author and I realize that these were written 5+ years ago and the author’s skills may have drastically increased since then.
The author has a disclaimer at the beginning of each book that the “futuristic” ideas are fiction, but they were basically unnamed modern technology. Tablets, stun guns, pulse shields. While the author was going towards dystopian, it didn’t quite reach the mark. The characters were slightly under-developed and there was just *something* missing, although I will admit I can’t quite put my finger on what it is.
Overall an enjoyable story, could have been more. But was a nice read. I wouldn’t recommend to read to friends as I didn’t love it but if you stumble across it you will find it to be a nice easy book series and great way to kill some time.
Just ok.
This book is essentially the Matched and Divergent books smoothed into one book. Not really an original concept in the book, I could easily guess what was next. Parts of the book didn't flow naturally and were strange. It was an ok read, it kept my attention, I wouldn't read it a second time though.
