Publisher Description
Set against the Bridgerton-era backdrop of Regency London, Anna Bradley’s witty and sexy trilogy sets fiercely alpha dukes against the duchesses who are determined to transform their delinquent husbands by any means necessary. A delight for fans of Mary Jo Putney, Sabrina Jeffries, Ella Quinn, Diana Quincy and Julia Quinn.
Bold and adventurous, Prudence Thorne is not the kind of woman to stand by meekly when someone she loves has been wronged. And she’s quite certain that Jasper Vincent, Duke of Montford, somehow duped her father into racking up enormous gambling debts. When fate offers her a chance to blackmail Jasper into forgiving her father’s losses, she seizes it . . . only to have her scheme backfire.
Jasper enjoys London’s illicit delights too much to wed. Too bad his grandfather has decided that a woman with the nerve to blackmail might be exactly the sort of wife to tame him. Pressed into a marriage neither wanted—and fighting a desire neither expected—Prue and Jasper torment and tempt each other beyond reason.
Surely a proper duchess should be subdued, obedient, and dignified? Yet just as he begins to get his wish, Jasper realizes how much he wants his unconventional wife—and only her—if it’s not too late to win her . . .
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Bradley's effervescent second Drop Dead Dukes Regency (after Give the Devil His Duke) takes the series to new heights. Prudence "Prue" Thorne has never been interested in matrimony, but believes marrying well to be the only way to pay off the gambling debt her father owes to Jasper St. Vincent, the Duke of Montford. Then she discovers a scandalous pair of erotic portraits of Jasper and hopes there might be another way: blackmail. She will return the incriminating materials if Jasper forgives the debt. Unfortunately, he scoffs at her threats, leaving Prue worried she'll have no choice but to marry Lord Stoneleigh, a pious vicar she dislikes more every time they meet. Jasper's commanding grandfather, however, is impressed by Prue's unfawning dealings with his rakish gradnson and urges Jasper to court her. As for the duke, he can't deny his attraction for long. Moments of levity, including Prue accidentally shooting Jasper in the "arse," add allure to this sparkling romance. Readers will especially adore ballsy Prue, whose pursuit of horseback riding and shooting and lack of drawing room skills make her stand out in Regency society. This is a delight.

Lots of Fun and Ruby Earrings
This is the story of Prudence Thorne and Jasper St. Vincent, Duke of Montford, her nemesis. Pru is furious that Jasper took advantage of her father in a card game. When she finds something that he wants to stay private, she seizes the opportunity to convince him to forgive what’s left of her father’s debt – blackmail. He refuses her. Then he changes his mind. Trying to make things right isn’t easy, but it is amusing. Their interactions impress his grandfather who believes Pru is the perfect duchess for Jasper. The path to true love is not always easy. Can Jasper handle this unconventional, independent woman? Maybe. This is a wonderfully entertaining story with great characters. There is snarky banter, attempted blackmail, a slightly crazy ex-mistress, a match-making grandfather, and a heroine who shoots the hero in the rear-end. This is an enemies-to-lovers story with lots of fun, an interesting romance, and a happy ending.
