Deadlocked Deadlocked

Publisher Description

In the penultimate novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True BloodSookie Stackhouse must work with her first love to clear her current undead flame of murder...

Felipe de Castro, the vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town. It’s the worst possible time for a human body to show up in Eric Northman’s front yard—especially the body of a woman whose blood he just drank. Now it’s up to Sookie and Bill Compton, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl’s fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious than she would ever suspect, who has set out to make Sookie’s world come crashing down.

WOW!

The last couple of Sookie books were a little off for me, but Charlaine set all to rights with this one. I LOVE this series again and what a good way to lead us into the final stages of this story. This book was well worth the wait.

Dead series

I loved the first nine Sookie Stackhouse books. I was a little disappointed in Book 10. I barely remember Book 11. This will be the last book in the series that I try to read. Harris replaces plot with plod and characters with cardboard. The main plot of the book is that there is a dead girl no one knows, with no friends or relatives, who apparently wanted to die, and Eric, Sookie and Pam might possibly for about five minutes be potential almost-suspects. Most of the book follows Sookie around Bon Temps interacting with boring characters most of whom are interchangeable and doing mundane things most of which are uninteresting. Remember how she used to go to the library and get shot or attacked by a werewolf? Now she just goes to the library, which is what I should have done instead of buying this book. Eric is barely in the book, and when he is around, he doesn't do anything. Remember when he regraveled her drive way because she needed it or when he bought her a cranberry coat because she got brains on her old one? Now he shows up on her birthday empty handed with nothing to say. Pam is equally gutted. Bill make a lot of page time, but doesn't do anything other than profess his undying love for Sookie. No dramatic gestures, just words. Harris clearly doesn't care about this series anymore, so, with a heavy heart, I'm following her lead and giving up on it.

Worst book inthe series.

I have read every stackhouse book and been in love with them. This one feels like an insult. Most of the book feels like random short thoughts about doing meanless things. The last 1/3 of the book is better, which is not saying much because the book is so short. Complete waste of my money, and time. Maybe the author is tired if writing this series, b/c thats what it felt like as i was reading.

If this was the first book of the series I read i would not pick up another one
