Publisher Description

Byline: Ismat Sabir The gas supplies to industry, captive power plants (CPPs) and CNG stations in many parts of Punjab including Lahore and Faisalabad the main business hubs, were cut for an indefinite period, to fill the gap of 400mmcfd in demand and to facilitate domestic consumers. But the industrialists were very fierce on this action that had faced gas cuts for more than 100 days during the last one year. The business community was protesting against the suspension of gas supplies and low pressure for the last several months. The worst sufferers of the gas cuts were small units that cannot afford expensive energy substitutes and many of them have already closed down in Punjab and created unemployment besides fall in exports.
