With its pristine parklands, electrifying nightlife, galaxy-class shopping, and inspiring entertainment, life aboard EOS-1 is luxurious and carefree.
As long as you live Upstation.
For Nix, a young snatcher working the Downstation markets and corridors of EOS-1, life is hard. Since he’s Unregistered and forced to live off Upstation society’s dregs, a hard life is the only life he knows. But snatching is what he’s good at, and it’s the only way he knows how to get by. Then his orbit gets all spun out when he catches heat from the hard-driven agents of Earth Orbit Station Security. And he has to face some harsh realities about what he believes and who he cares about before he gets sent on the short walk and long drop on the Downwell Express.

A Shiny Hopeful Future
A relatable concept that stood out for me was that of chosen families, in a future outer space world, the desire to be loved and cared for is just as essential for survival. There is a sense of relatability with each character that resonates for me, from the hustling main character striving for a better life to the serene and gentle spirit of their chosen family member managing to beat the odds.
I enjoyed how this thoughtful novella set up a futuristic world where technology has made it possible to live in outer space, a shiny hopeful future for all can be possible. After all humans living in outer space definitely sounds like a fierce group effort, right?
