Publisher Description
Return to the mystical world of Krynn, where the heroic Companions continue their fantastical adventures—and face their greatest challenge yet—in this sequel to Dragons of Autumn Twilight.
The New York Times-bestselling phenomenon inspired by Dungeons & Dragons!
With the return of the dragon minions of Takhisis, the Queen of Dragons, the land of Krynn has become more dangerous than ever. But as the nations of Krynn prepare to fight for their homes, their lives, and their freedom, longstanding hatreds and prejudices interfere. When fighting breaks out among the races, it seems the battle is lost before it even begins.
Meanwhile, the heroic Companions have been torn apart by war. A full season will pass before they meet again—if they meet again. Raistlin has made an ominous prediction, one that implies not all of the Companions will survive the fight. His warning, along with sinister dreams, haunt the friends as they search for the weapons that will stop the Dark Queen in her tracks.
Another riveting tale in the Dragonlance Chronicles, Dragons of Winter Night is an action-packed adventure in which the true value of love and friendship is measured against the backdrop of a catastrophic war between good and evil.
Dragons of Winter Night is the second book in the Dragonlance Chronicles.

Return to the series after 30+ years
I used to read books and I read way over my reading level as a youth. I read this series in late elementary/middle school and now that my kids have also strong reading skills, I thought to revisit the series I loved as a young boy.
This book has a lot of action and builds on everything I loved from the predecessor. After 30 years I hesitated to read this because I never forgot the ending: the death of Sturm, which I feel wasn’t necessary. He should have never died fatherless; especially since he was in love with Alhana. She pined for him, waiting for her man to return but I think she should have been more proactive and sought him out. Their romance was kind of overlooked as a minor plot point, but it could have resurfaced whenever he became the focal point. In the beginning, he was in love and all that but he never really mentioned it ever again.
This book fleshes out a lot of sexual relationships: Tania and Kitiara, gilthanas and solara. Even though it never happened: the fire between caramon and the virgin Tika. The book contains a ton of action and ofc dragons!
My only complaint is that the fight with sturm and kitiara should have lasted a lot longer.
The death of Lorac was kind of haunting.
Overall, this book is a must read this series is a must-read.
Great read…
Fantastic!!!
Great Trilogy!
I genuinely love this trilogy! I’ve read it so many times over the years, and have laughed and cried along with the story. It has some genuinely good pieces of advice regarding life if you are paying attention too!
