In this steamy and emotional contemporary romance from a New York Times bestselling author, two damaged souls must overcome the pain of their pasts to have the love they've always dreamed of.
Hattie Yates has finally met the man of her dreams. Yet years of abuse from her demanding father have left her petrified of disappointment. She’s already failed to reach her goal of becoming a professional ballerina—she can’t handle the terrible consequences of another dream becoming a nightmare. But when a stalker sets their sights on Hattie, there’s only one man she dares to hope can help . . .
Axl Pantera knows Hattie is the only woman for him. Yet despite the attraction burning between them, Hattie refuses to let him in. The former soldier is determined to woo her into letting down her walls. And when danger comes calling, he’s up against more than her wary and bruised heart. Axl will do anything to prove to Hattie that they’re meant to be, but first, he’ll need to keep her safe.
Ashley delivers a sexy, high-octane thriller, the third in her Dream Team series (after Dream Chaser). Hattie Yates once dreamed of being a ballerina in New York or London but after years of verbal abuse from her father, she's stuck dancing at a strip club in Denver. Security specialist Axl Pantera has lusted after Hattie for months, but the walls she's erected around herself are nearly impossible for him to climb. Hattie returns Axl's attraction, but her painful past has destroyed her self-esteem and makes it difficult for her to open up. When Hattie receives frightening calls and letters from a stalker, Axl swoops in to keep her safe. With Axl, Ashley creates a fantasy boyfriend: smart, loyal, loving, and able to keep danger at arm's length. Hattie's insecurities ring true, and a stellar cast of supporting characters especially fellow dancers Ryn and Evie, and Cleo the cat underpin the narrative. Returning readers and new fans alike will devour this electrifying tale and eagerly await more details of the ongoing mystery that's been teased throughout the first three books in the series. \n
This book had more of the humor and tantalizing teasing of conversation that was what first attracted me to KA’s writing. I hadn’t realized how much I missed that back and forth banter and the unexpected delight of not knowing what would cause eye crinkles or soft faces like what I had adored in the Mystery Man or Rock Chick Series.
So it was nice to read because I liked the surprises of not having every thing spelled out for me. It’s fun for a reader to be surprised along with the lead characters.
This is a quick and light read and sets up Peppers story nicely. Axl and Hattie are adorable.
As always just a brilliant story! Heart-warming characters, nail-biting storyline and awesome sex!
I honestly just don't want these books to end. I don't always love the start of KA books due to the angst that is always there before the couple get together but boy when they get together, I absolutely love how the men are with their woman.
KA men are very protective and treat their woman so good. Granted I have not read all of her books yet but I'm close and this is generally the formula and I LOVE IT. I'm always left wanting more.
In Dream Spinner there seemed to be extra couple time between Axl and Hattie, which really puts this over the top goodness for me. I love couple time. I love seeing how a couple get to know each other and have each others back. It's one of my favorite things to read in a romance book. You totally get that in this book.
I'm really looking forward to book 4. The teaser at the end makes me nervous because the beginning may be even more angsty than usual, but I know the middle and end will be worth every bit of that angst.
