During the Dance
Publisher Description
The magic's in the dance and the dance goes on.
Dad stopped drinking the day my sister was born. He called her his angel, and the booze didn't take him back until she died. He came drunk to the funeral, crying and roaring, loud enough for two parents, loud enough to make up for Mam's silence. At the end, the men had to hold him back, or he'd have thrown himself in the grave.

Dark, beautiful, sad... Wonderful
I've read most of Mark's work and this is on par with all if it.
It's a sad but beautiful story of a girl who dies "during the dance". It's told from her brother (Sam's) point of view.
It's beautiful and sad; dark and wonderful...
Well done, Mark... I felt your heart in this one
"Let your dancer out, soon or never".
