Captivating Mystery!

I thoroughly enjoyed “Dying Is Easy!” Finished it in a week as it engaged me from the very beginning. A very thrilling and captivating mystery of folks within the comedy world.

I will say, as much as it is generally said that comedians/comics can be dark and twisted people, it was a little hard for me to imagine them being involved in this type of sketchy activity. But as the plot thickened, I began to understand what motivated each character to behave the way they did. Although it pieced together nicely, some scenes did seem too much of a coincidence to take place - I.e. the narrator, Adam, conveniently bumping into certain characters at certain times. A very clever and delicate balance as it still created suspense and I still managed to be surprised at the range of outcomes.

I also wished the author expanded more on what makes Jozee attracted to Adam. It’s clear as to why he loves her, but it’s not too clear the other way around - not that it would have added much context, but would have satisfied my curiosity.

Overall, an amazing read! The twists and turns left me shocked at the end of each chapter, and if you’re like me reading this in shivering harsh winter weather, the descriptions of the blistering summer nights will somehow be meditative for you. Well done, KJ!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
