Funny sweet and quirky novella with a side of light danger
I really enjoyed this fun, flirty, and sexy shifter novella of Kelly and Xavier’s second chance romance with a side of demons. Kelly works at the tattoo parlor in the quirky shifter friendly town of Forbidden. She is a vampire recently escaped from her imprisoning sire. Xavier is a wolf shifter and vampire hunter who has come to town because of a report of a human being killed by a vampire. Kelly and Xavier were in a relationship five years ago when she was turned. He believed she was killed and in his grief he became a hunter. The attraction and feelings between them and are still there but there are obstacles to them having a relationship again. To get to their HEA, they will have to unpack their baggage and deal with some new town weirdness. The story includes sweet moments, steamy scenes, light danger, love, fated mates, and laughs. While short, the story also included witty dialogue, three dimensional main characters, and an engaging storyline. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
A laugh a minute second chance tale
I think I was at least smiling, if not guffawing, during the entire time I was reading this book. Kelly and Xavier are witty and sarcastic even when they’re hurting on the inside. They have baggage to unpack and demons to banish and just maybe they can become the couple they’re meant to be. This fast paced short read just made my heart happy ❤️.
