Chaotic
This is such a hard read with the main character lacking credibility. The child narrator is intelligent enough for advanced math, huge philosophical theories, grand schemes and forethought; yet doesn’t know what simple words like “definitive” mean. I feel like I’m watching a pinball bounce around haphazardly when I’m reading the text. I understand it’s supposed to be chaotic, but it feels like the author was trying way too hard here. This book is the reason why I wish I could rent a digital book for 24 hours instead of shelling out full price for something so difficult to finish. I’d gladly pay $2 to know for sure I don’t like something instead of $14.99 for a good old college try and fail.
