FTL, is a story of four people who as children dreamed of going into space. It was a constant topic for the four. When they finished college they went in different directions. All except Arin Carr, he kept his dream alive and worked only to make money to build a ship. 

In 2125 the Houston Space Institute lost more astronauts than all of the former years combined. The World Counsel of Nations blamed my friend, John Evers. The WCN banned all manned space travel. 

That is when I put my plan into motion. I gathered my three childhood friends and we set out to build a ship. I had three degrees and John two. John was a Propulsion Engineer. My Degrees were in Aircraft design, Propulsion, and Chemistry. The third and fourth members were Molly Riand; Scientist and Mechanical Engineer; and Vi Searil, our Computer Engineer. 

We dropped out, hiding in the New Mexico mountains, and began to build our ship. The dream is alive again and if we can stay alive we will succeed.
