WOW, Just Wow!
Child abuse/slavery has always been a crime that cuts me deep. At first I almost didn’t read this but I pressed on. I had to skip some of the abusive details, and your writing overcomes all the abuse. I’m happy read this great story and know that even abused people can live happily with loved ones including wonderful pleasures of sex. Pepper you are an amazing writer! Who else can take such a touchy subject and hit a home run? Just Wow
Good, but not good
After reading this series, there are HEAVY triggers and deep demented themes. I also think it's extremely important that women reading this do not get false expectations for happy endings in domestic violence type situations. I get the story behind this one, but I also think it's important to understand the themes of rape, entrapment, etc. are not "redeemable" qualities. This series has a lot deeper context, but it still should not glorify staying with an abuser in general.
Epic Conclusion
I was already hooked but this completely took me through the ringer. The characters completely pull me in and never let go. My heart was all over the place. I burned with them and for them. Such an epic conclusion. Wish I could read it for the first time again. But I know I will definitely have to dive into this whole series again. There is just so much emotional depth. There’s darkness but there’s also hope.
