Publisher Description

Cora Goode has woken up in a fairytale world where she can understand what birds are saying, men ride horses and have fluffy feathers in their hats and furniture zigs, zags and whirls in miracles of construction.

The problem is, she thinks she’s in a dream. Without realizing it, Cora does something that starts a centuries-old curse that will sweep the land if she gets captured by the evil Minerva.

At this point, her dream becomes a nightmare.

Luckily, hot guy, fantasyland Noctorno is there to save her from the clutches of Minerva.

Unfortunately, hot guy, fantasyland Noctorno doesn’t like Cora all that much. He has his reasons, but no matter what our Cora does to try to convince him, he won’t be convinced.

Cora needs Tor to keep her safe and guide her through this fantastical world all while she hopes one day to wake up in her not-so-great apartment in her not-so-great life in her world.

The problem is, the more time she spends with the gorgeous warrior Tor, the faster she falls in love with him.

Tor and Cora

They were a truly great read. Drifted more into fantasy than I can usually make myself enjoy, but KA makes the whole experience too perfect to just skim through the way I normally would. I love that the character in a new world enjoys exactly the things you know you'd get a kick out of in the same scenario. I am so incredibly unhappy when one of her books comes to an end. More so now because I've read them all a few times while forced to wait for the next in the series. Torture!

Every book is the same girl

These stories are cute but after the second one is clear that it’s the same story over and over. The heroines are all exactly the same, right down to speech patterns and reactions. They all use the same (foul) language, the same pet names, the same reactions. Every hero grabs his woman by the back of the neck, shoves their face into his neck when he grabs them, calls the woman the same endearments. And for Pete’s sake, stop using the word “therefore” so often, it’s clumsy. This is an okay brainless beach read, but seriously, if you’ve read one of the series, then you already know each couple in the whole series by they’re just clones of each other.
