When witness protection fails her, more than once, he’s tasked with protecting the only surviving victim of an infamous deranged killer.
She comes with a hell of a lot of baggage and...other needs, Cane is all too happy to fulfill.
Hiding out in one of the most secure cities in the US, he has eyes and ears everywhere searching for the killer with unfinished business.
Cane will stop at nothing to protect the beautiful and fierce Charlie, but international serial killer Anson Deveraux will go to the ends of the earth to find her... and finish what he started.
What do you do when the lights go out? Run.
Love a good romantic suspense story
Should I like the secondary couple more than the main couple? Because I found myself more interested in them at times then the action going on with Cane and Charlie. The prologue grabbed me right away, but when we fast forwarded into real time, Charlie was less ballsy then when she was introduced to Cane. That’s my biggest complaint...even knowing that being hidden away from a serial killer for years has got to be taxing on a gal, it took me a few chapters to get reinvested in Charlie and Cane.
I seldom read books with cliffhangers or those that are parts of duets, unless both books have already been released. I need that instant gratification of knowing how the story is going to end. So I waited until part two was coming up for publication soon so I wouldn’t need to wait that long. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Love this series wish I had more money lol
Loved this Series Start!
Cane and Charlie’s story was a fantastic beginning to the Blackout Series by Stephanie St Klaire!
They are both in Vegas working together undercover, hiding from a mad man that is after Charlie and willing to stop at nothing to get what he wants.
The story is definitely full of unexpected twists and turns throughout that made the story even more enjoyable than expected. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but I really cannot wait to see what is in store next for these characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
