Despite the pressures of running a household (including her insufferable 13-year-old brother, Kit, and two younger siblings), Maya maintains a relatively normal social life, while Lochan has crippling social anxieties. Only able to depend on each other, Lochan and Maya fall in love and are forced to hide their feelings, causing abundant emotional anguish. British author Suzuma, in her U.S. debut, does an admirable job of making the siblings' romance feel believable both are repulsed, conflicted, and electrified as their relationship deepens but as the book alternates between Lochan and Maya's perspectives, it bogs down in florid language and exhaustive, melodramatic contemplation of their dilemma. Ages 14 up.

Best I've read so far
Definately one of the best books i have read...very well written, so good in fact, that i couldnt help but feel compassion and sadness for the characters, n despite their very taboo situation i really wanted them to have their happy ending...kudos to the author for having even written about such an edgy subject...not for teens under 17 and def not for people who arent open minded...a book i def will not forget, kept me thinking for quite awhile...oh n make sure u have a box of tissues near by....
Not children's fiction ...
Unless you want your children to contemplate what it would be like to have a physical relationship with a sibling. Written simply as if for children, but with a very adult theme. Be prepared for compromising situations and unrealistic scenarios. Not worth $10, maybe $3.
