"Lee Tobin McClain dazzles with unforgettable characters, fabulous small-town settings and a big dose of heart." —Susan Mallery, New York Times bestselling author Safe harbor and new beginnings await on the Chesapeake Bay… Pleasant Shores cop Evan Stone has worked hard to become a man of his word, overcoming the alcoholism that sent him down the wrong path in his youth. The other half of that promise—to stay away from Cassie romantically—is harder to keep. Sheltered for years because of a childhood illness, Cassie is ready to reach for what she wants. And despite her family’s warnings and her own fears, Cassie’s heart wants Evan. As the return of his estranged son puts his sobriety to the test, Cassie and Evan are drawn together, finding strength through what they’ve each weathered. She knows Evan would risk anything to protect her, but are they willing to risk the price of loving, now and forever? The Off Season Book 1: Cottage at the Beach

Delightful plot, the settings and characters. A place where forgiveness and healing are tested. When the past comes to test Evan but with Cassie and the love and hope for a more fulfilling life. A good clean heartwarming story, of reaching out for what you want. GivenARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
Forever on the Bay by Lee Tobin McClain is book six in her The Off Season series. The standalone books in the series continue to get better and better.
Evan Stone is the only single cop on the Pleasant Shores police force. His presence next door to the Victory Cottage is intended to deter criminals. Cassandra Thomas is the little sister of Evan’s best friend; only, she’s not so little any more. Living in Victory Cottage was supposed to help Cassie, not cause her more emotional pain. Will these two find a way to comfort each other without the complications attraction brings?
More of the same is a good thing when it comes to Ms. McClain’s The Off Season series, and Forever on the Bay is more of the same. Readers familiar with the series will remember Evan Stone, and we’re introduced to Cassie Thomas, the latest inhabitant of Victory Cottage. These two characters are very well-conceived and interesting. The plot is intriguing and holds the reader’s attention. The setting still holds a prominent place, giving some local ambiance. This is yet another 5 out of 5 star read in this series. I recommend it to all readers of chaste romance and romantic suspense.
