An Insightful Introduction to the Complex Ideas of Thermodynamics
While many authors have tackled the concepts that drive the physical Universe and the transference of energy, Peter Atkins’ book is able to convey a message that is both succinct, informative and interesting. Being new to the realm of thermodynamics I was a little worried that diving right into literature centered around some of its core philosophies might provide nothing more than a headache, I quickly came to realize how well this book introduces the topic to the reader. If the reader has a genuine interest in the subject material, they’ll come out on the other side. Yes, there will be a few headscratchers and places you might have to reread just so the concept of how important a Cold Sink really is makes sense to you - I even highlighted key points in the book. But approach this book with vigor and a tenacity for learning, and you’ll successfully become a novice practitioner in the field of Thermodynamics.
