Up-and-coming wedding photographer Leah McHale’s career is on the rise–thanks in no small part to the Wedding Belles, the elite New York wedding planning agency that always throws top-tier business Leah’s way. So when one of the Belles asks Leah to fill in at the former First Daughter’s wedding, Leah is overjoyed to say yes—until she finds out who she’ll be working with.
Jason Rhodes is the one man who was able to capture Leah’s heart and, once he had it, promptly stepped all over it and left her broken. Now he’s working side-by-side with her at the biggest wedding of the season and Leah is determined to give him the cold shoulder. Despite his persistence, she is not going to fall for his charming, impish ways again. Not even if he still has that killer, irresistible smile...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Layne (the New York's Finest series) packs as much into this sexually charged and emotionally intense novella (an introduction to her upcoming Wedding Belles series) as most authors do in a full novel. Manhattan photographer Leah McHale was head over heels for her boyfriend, Jason Rhodes, until she went to visit him and a woman answered his door wearing nothing but a shirt. Leah immediately ended the relationship and avoided him at all costs. She's done her best to move on, but when they're both hired to shoot a high-profile wedding that could catapult their careers, she must learn to play nice with the man who shattered her heart. Jason has never gotten over Leah or her distrust of him. He's a former foster child, and all he wants is for someone to believe in him. The circumstances of their break-up screamed infidelity, but everything is not as it appears. The heat between them is enough to melt steel, and the emotional connection and psychological struggles will keep readers engaged.

Cute story
This was such a cute story! Jason and Leah are wedding photographers with a past. When Leah's friend needs some help at the president's daughter's wedding, Leah knows it's a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. The only catch is that she'll have to work with Jason - her ex, who broke her heart a year ago.
Jason and Leah's chemistry explodes off the page, and I loved how determined Leah was not to have anything to with Jason. His transgression definitely does appear to be one of the worst kinds in a relationship, but things (of course) aren't always what they seem. But I also equally loved Jason's very obvious intent towards Leah - Layne worked her magic with these two. Despite wanting to stay away, these two couldn't - and when they finally talked it out (finally being a relative term - this romance happens in a short period of time), I was left with happiness and hope in my heart. Great story, perfect for a quick read and a phenomenal start to a new series!

Where’s the rest of the book?!
Loved the story but left extremely disappointed on how it ended. It feels extremely unfinished, like as if we just skipped a bunch of the story. I love you LL as an author and have read most of the books but I feel like I could have finished this in 2 hours.
